All iPhone Apps will Work with Apple iPad

The whole world witnessed the launch of Apple iPad at Apple Event, where the iPad was showcased and the complete iPad features were disclosed. Even after 10 years of iPad development, the iPad has several drawbacks, and just to make sure, people want to know if iPad will support iPhone apps? There are many other questions arising such as if Apple is going to develop separate applications for iPad or all existing iPhone apps will be compatible with iPad?

Just to answer all above queries – Yes, all existing iPhone apps are compatible with iPad and will work normally on iPad. All iPhone / iPod Touch apps (official and non-official) will run in two modes. One is with the same resolution as the iPhone , at 320×240 centered on the iPad screen and the second one is the zoom mode where the apps are zoomed to fit the screen.

The second option will make the full use of the iPad screen using the real estate, albeit in a zoomed manner. The feature sounds good but the flip site is that the real estate zooming feature will forcefully zoom the apps from 320×240 to full screen which means that the apps might not look as good as on iPhone cause it gets stretched a couple of times than it’s original resolution.

Apple has also released iPad SDK for the developers, so it won’t take much time for the developers to try redevelop their apps to suit the iPad’s high resolution screen. [via]

I’m not really sure how useful the Ipad really is…doesn’t seem to cater to any specific market

Well.. working in IT I would love one that would run Wire Shark :) or even just have a pop out ethernet jack to use it a semi dumb device to check DHCP and other such things.

Also seems like if you had a complex procedure you could have videos to run on it and its just WAY lighter than a laptop.

All that is just scratching the surface!
