Windows AIK stands for Windows Automated Installation Kit, has been developed by Microsoft to help people in installing, customizing, managing and deploying Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. AIK is available for free download and it manages your installation without allowing you to do much practically and ensures the perfect installation of Windows operating systems, like Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 R2.
Windows AIK is a collection of tools and help tutorials to help users in installing Windows OS. You can do the following tasks with AIK :
- Make Windows installation automatic
- Capture Windows screenshots using ImageX
- Modify images using Deployment Imaging Servicing and Management (DISM)
- Create Windows PE images easily
- Migrate user profiles and data using User State Migration Tool (USMT)
This useful Windows automated installation kit should be made available for each and every Windows OS. But presently it supports Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003 R2 SP3, Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 only.
