Rapidshare, one of the largest file hosting and sharing network allows unlimited files downloading to it’s premium users only. It uses a auto capping feature to keep normal users away from downloading more than one file at a time. Additionally you have to wait for few minutes to download next files after the completion of current one. Again if you want to enjoy all features like no waiting time, higher speed and parallel downloading, you need to buy a premium account. Here I will share the trick to download unlimited files from Rapidshare instantly without having a premium account.
To restrict a normal user from downloading files continuously, Rapidshare logs each IP address. Every time you start downloading files fromRapidshare, it logs your IP address. Once you download a file, it registers download quota with your IP address and when you try to download another file, it will check that log file for your previous downloads on that IP. If it finds that you have downloaded a file recently, it will ask you to wait for some more time before you can download another file. In this case you can use Rapidshare download accelerators or do some tweaks on your computer to bypass Rapidshare waiting time.
How to bypass Rapidshare Waiting Time Limit and Download Files
Each time you open your computer and connect to internet, your ISP assigns a IP address to your computer. This IP address might change on each system restart if your ISP provides dynamic IP service. Since, Rapidshare looks for IP address to track previous downloading history, we can resume unlimited download if we reset our earlier IP and get a new one. Let’s know how can we reset previous IP address to get a new one.
- Go to Start >> Run on your computer.
- Type cmd in the run box.
- It will open Command Prompt window. Type the following commands there one by one, (don’t forget to hit Enter after each command) in the given order.
- Now your computer should have got registered with a new IP address.
- Navigate to Rapidshare and try downloading your file. This time you would be able to download files, even if you did download large files few minutes before.
- Repeat the above process each time you want to download files from Rapidshare.
- You are done.

I guess your ISP is providing you a static IP instead of dynamic ones. If you are getting static IP, you can’t expect much with this trick. But if you are using dynamic IP and the trick is not working, switch off your modem for 5-10 minutes and then restart again. Wide chances are that your ISP will serve a new IP and you can resume downloading rapidshare files again.
If you have static like me, don’t even bother powering off your modem and wasting 5 minutes.
Simply have your modem configuration page open and do a hard restart of the modem, or turn it off then back on again no need to wait even 1 min.

@ Richie : Dynamic IPs are distributed randomly to different modems by the ISP. Now suppose you turn off your modem for 5 minutes and if I power on my modem in between that 5 minutes, there is a chance that I will be assigned with your IP address as that’s not being used by anyone. So, keeping your modem turned off for sometime will increase the chances of getting a new IP address
i have a dyanamic ip but still am not able to dwnlad frm rapid share ,…am usuin reliance and mostly reliance gives dyanamic ip,..
i tried this trick… but it doesnt work.. cmd says “the operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation”… what should i do..??
