Google is the Master of Marketing – See the Proof!
Google is not just mere a search engine, it’s the brain of some very intelligent and creative people. Google Adsense, the advertisement solution of Google for publishers is the largest online advertisement network and one of the major sources that fund Google’s bank account. The only thing that differs Adsense from other ad networks is it’s content based targeting. Adsense robots read the web page, get the concept and deliver contextual ads, which means you will see those ads which are closely similar to the website theme.
While surfing a website, I came across this post.This post was about “Increasing Pro-suicide sites on how to commit suicide”. The author of this post discussed various ways to commit suicide (later got edited). Well, the concept of the author was very clear, he focused on this topic – SUICIDE.
Now when I saw the Adsense ad slot just below the post title, I could not believe my eyes! If you are familiar with Adsense, you must be knowing that such type of posts (based on suicide) might display ads on suicide prevention, moral lessons, advices etc (yes, there are so many advertisers who cover the said niche). But… see the below screenshot :
Google does not want to miss any revenue even from those persons who are willing to die and searching for ways. Google Adsense thinks that showing “Life Insurance” ads on such pages might influence those people to make one life insurance policy from their advertiser before committing suicide! Great way to deliver the right thing to the right people at the right time! And the second ad says the way to make solar electricity, by the way, can’t someone just commit suicide in darkness? Bravo Google, Bravo!
