Google started promoting it’s browser Chrome to improve it’s market share. According to the statistics the market share of internet browsers fall in this order – Firefox (45.5%) >> IE 7 (25.7%) >> IE 6 (18.5%) >> Chrome (3.9%) >> Safari (3.0%) >> Opera (2.3%) >> IE 8 (0.6%). So, in order to improve their market share they have tied up with Real Network to provide Google Chrome with their installation bundle.

Whenever you install any product from Real Network, it will ask you for installing google Chrome. You may select yes to install chrome or might say no to this. Much before than this tie up, Google started promoting Chrome with it’s other installation files such as Google Earth.

You might have noticed that Yahoo! is offering it’s own products with third party installation files. And this move from Yahoo increased it’s market share in many times. So, finally the Google is adopting this way to promote it’s own products. Keep fingers crossed to see if Google meets the goal or not!
