If you have just downloaded an ISO file or the file is associated with .iso extension, you should know that you have downloaded a file meant for burning. Generally ISO files are used to burn on CD/DVD but you can easily open it and see the contents. There are many tools available to extract or open as ISO image file, but the most convenient tools are WinRAR and MagicISO. Let’s know how to open ISO files using these two tools.

Extract or Open ISO files using WinRAR

WinRAR is generally used to extract files from ZIP, RAR and TAR archives. But we can also use it to extract ISO files. Here is how :

  • Open WinRAR on your computer. (If you don’t have it, download here)
  • Navigate to Options >> Settings >> Integration
  • Check the box next to ISO option
  • winrar

  • Click on OK to save the settings
  • You are done.

Now you can right click on any ISO file, select the option Extract here to extract all the contents from that ISO image file.

Open ISO files using MagicISO

MagicISO is one of the most powerful tools to open several archive files. You can easily open ISO file contents using this handy tool.

  • Open and run MagicISO (If you don’t have it, get it here)
  • Browse to select the ISO file to open
  • magicISO

  • Select a location to Save the extracted files
  • Click on Extract button to extract the files and save at the selected location

These are the two simple ways to open ISO files. You can also use Daemon Tool or UnDisker to open, create or extract ISO files.
