After Bing, Microsoft launched the next generation social networking site called Windows Live Planet. It looks like Microsoft is currently working on several projects and this time it revealed it’s most promising project called Windows live planet. Microsoft made it very clear to start this new service on an top-level independent domain but as usual it associated Windows with the domain, resulting in a long domain name 
But it’s all set to compete with the social networking daddys like Orkut and Facebook.
You can sign in to Windows Live Planet using your Hotmail / Windows Live / MSN ID. Windows live messenger is integrated with Live Planet and you will automatically get signed in to your messenger as soon as you login to this newly launched social networking site.
Well, as far as the overall experience is concerned, AJAX feature is being used in profile editing pages, making it easy to update your profile informations. But it lacks a loads and loads of features. It has some basic functions like scribble (like scarpbook in Orkut and wall in Facebook), avatar, profile informations etc. But if you are here to compete with the largest social networking sites, you have to get everything (may be more than that) added to your current features list. However, since it’s just the beginning, we can expect several new features in coming days.

It is a site worth exploring. The web Live Messenger and Match meter are really awesome. I found quite a lot of interesting profiles, some from brazil & spain!!
