Now They Are Trying To Make Bloggers Fool!

Posted by Bapun 6 February, 2009

Popularity of blogging even attracting big companies to jump into this field. And why should not they also? It will bring them profit as well as popularity and fame. Recently a popular Indian site Blog.co.in jumped into this field. It’s offering people free blogs under their domain name. It’s saying that it will allow bloggers to earn money while blogging. Here nothing is new, it’s just that “old wine in a new bottle”. They are fooling you bloggers, wake up!

Blog.co.in claims to provide you a free sub domain, which means if you want to blog about blogger templates, you can get a sub domain as http://bloggertemplates.blog.co.in. Then you have to add regular contents and in return you can show your Adsense/Adbrite/Yahoo ads there. They will serve those ads in a 2/3 ratio, which means if your blog page gets loaded three times, your ads will be served two times and their ads will get served one time. If you have not configured your ads, their ads will show up for unlimited times.

blog.co.in trying to make bloggers foolNow I really don’t understand why people are getting registered with them. Personally I’ve no issues with this site, but this looks like they are hardcore professional and getting into blogging only for money, money and money. There is nothing for bloggers to get excited about this. Why should someone start a blog with them instead of the largest blog service providers like Blogspot and Wordpress.  Let me make a small comparison between Blog.co.in and Blogspot.com.

Blogspot.com Vs Blog.co.in

The above chart clearly indicates that Blogspot is thousand times better than this Blog.co.in. With Blogspot you will be getting more facilities and you will pocket all your earnings. Why would your share a portion of money with others that you have earned because of your hard work. And also, if someone is blogging and using his energy, mind, time, experience in creating quality posts for his blog, then he should be getting his full due. I am not against Blog.co.in’s policy, after all they are here for business. But why should bloggers compromise and go for a service that is not up to the mark and can’t provide you a future in blogging! If you are a newbie in blogging then start either with Blogspot or Wordpress.  They are worth it.

If you are having the basic experience, then go for a domain and self hosted wordpress. After all we bloggers are here to blog and our blog is our identity. Never compromise with your blogging career, you never know you can be another Amit Agrawal or Rahul Bansal.

i happen to come to this thread from the other website. i just don’t understand your reasoning of saying ‘fooling’. I only see that there are differences in options, that’s about. Your post titles suggests that they are cheating or saying someting and doing something else. but from your own writing it doesn’t look so.

@ Krish : First of all, I was not in a mood to approve your comment. You provided your email as “krish@somesite.com”. Well, this clearly says that you are not willing to provide your details, still want to keep your point. I can understand your point of not mentioning your details and now anyone can guess where are you from..lolz.

I have never said they are cheating bloggers. I just mentioned that they are fooling bloggers with their revenue sharing system. Other sites like Blogspot or Wordpress never demand any share from your hard earned money. But Blog.co.in demands one third of your income every month.

Now again I want to advise bloggers to use other blogging platforms as they don’t want a share from your revenue. And also, quality wise Blogspot is far better than Blog.co.in and the comparison in my post explains it better.
