Flashback : List of Old Doordarshan TV shows and Serials

Doordarshan, the free-to-air television channel which is managed by Information and Broadcast ministry, Government of India is still the most popular and widely viewed TV channels in India. In spite of the presence of several high quality satellite channels, Doordarshan has a larger viewership, mainly in remote areas. The era of 80s was the era of Doordarshan where hundreds of people were being gathered before a single TV set to catch their favorite TV serials such as Ramayan, Mahabharat, Rangoli, Jungle Book, Alif Laila, Byomkesh Bakshi etc.

I lived in Allahabad for 10 years, 1992–2002. There was a regular TV show on called Circus, which featured amazing clips from various circus performances. During break the band played, and a few times I saw the band trumpet player do a trumpet solo that was just soooooo sweet. I dearly wish I knew where I could get copy of that, video or audio.

    Hi

I am a fan of Jungle Book even at the age of 35 apart from my trade life style ,the creativity of Rudyard kipling is superb and the animations are the life of rudyard kipling’s Jungle Book than his book characters.so I wish to watch it to relax myself, not all hollywoods or bollywoods are really relaxing.

so I wish a full download of Jungle Book . Please provide me the link to my mail I seek it at the earliest and I am really thank ful to you for providing you this meaningful help and service.

    Hi,

I would like to add another serial which I guess is not on the list. The serial’s name was “Take 2″ which was earlier hosted by the late Priya Tendulkar. then the host was Suchitra Krishnamoorthy and then Kunika. this was in the year 1992-1993.
