After the sudden Paypal personal payments reversal issue, many Indian Paypal users including professionals, bloggers or normal users have got their funds reversed from their accounts. Few of them have even left with negative balances in their accounts as the reversed fund was exceeding the total balance in their Paypal account. Users need to contact the sender and request to send the funds again to get rid of this problem and get back the reversed money. This Paypal issue has created problems both for receivers and senders.
Like the Indian Paypal users who got the reversed transaction email notifications, the senders were even contacted by Paypal. The notifying emails to senders was looking like this :
Dear Soumyaranjan Pratihari,
Your payment of $$$ has been returned to you. If you sent the payment with a bank account, the funds will be returned to your PayPal balance. If you paid with a credit card, the amount will be credited back to your card.
We returned the payment to you because we have stopped allowing personal payments to be sent to or from India.
If this was a payment for a purchase of goods or services, and not a personal payment, then you may resend the payment to the seller by following these steps on the PayPal website: (a) click the Send Money tab, (b) select “Goods,” and (c) provide a shipping address.
If this payment was a personal payment, such as a gift to a friend or family member, then we request that you find another payment method until we restore personal payments to and from India.
We are trying to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and we’re sorry for any inconvenience.

Paypal Transaction Reversed
While the email was not describing the original reason behind taking this step, it focused some light on the issue with a possible solution on how to resend reversed payments :
- Click the Send Money tab
- Select Goods as the ” and (c)
- Provide a shipping address
- Click Send to send the money
- You are done.

Its a bug and not only Personal even my payment that was made for service (I sent invoice selecting service) got reverted, I spoke to PayPal Customer Service and they say the Bug will be fixed by 9th Feb. But you can ask you clients for an alternate option Xoom. Its good and fast and use coupon code “webxoomremit” to get 100% charge waveof. Have fun!!
